I was asked to document a series of swimming competitions in Portugal.
The more involved I got I realised that, probably as many other sports, it is not only a physical challenge but also an intense emotionally draining one. I witness a wide range of emotions, from dealing with a bad swim to the exhilarating high of a win or a new personal best time.
Not only the athletes are the main characters of these events but also crazed parents cheering or criticising from the balconies. It was a different experiences, very intense.
My admiration goes to the young swimmers who keep their calm and mental strength to perform their best, representing their clubs and fulfilling their own ambitions.
